Common Core
We offer common core skills and knowledge for the childcare workforce; which is interactive and fun course delivered by qualified trainers. This course is perfect for child carers such as nannies who wish to become an Ofsted registered on the voluntary part of the Ofsted childcare register. This training is required as it sets out the basic skills and knowledge for people whose job brings them into regular contact with children, young people and adults.
To become an Ofsted registered Nanny on the voluntary part you are required to have Common Core skills and knowledge for the childcare workforce and Paediatric First Aid training.
First Aid.
The paediatric First Aid course is comprehensive interactive and enjoyable course. The course helps nannies deal with emergency situations confronted by nannies and people who work with young children. This course meets the First Aid requirements of Ofsted for the voluntary register, which is essential to become Ofsted registered nanny on the voluntary part.
Our two days training covers both courses the common core training and Paediatrics First Aid delivered by qualified and professional trainers.

For Courses Availabilities and Bookings
ASSESSMENT: There will be questions and answers from the core training days to test learners knowledge and understanding, learners will choose an area of interest from one of the core training days to present what they have learnt to other learners.
CERTIFICATE: On completion of the home based childcare course there is a pre-registration visit, which is optional but can be arranged at an additional fee.

Our certificated Home Based Childcare Course serves as the Introductory training for all prospective childminders, childminding assistants, au pairs and professional nannies. The Certificate in Home Based Childcare Course will provide learners with a good introduction and understanding of their role as Home Based practitioners. The programme will provide key principles to enable practitioners to apply this to their practice, such as gaining knowledge and understanding of:-
- Early Years Foundation Stage-The educational programme/areas of learning
- Special Educational Needs and Disability(SEND)
- Promoting Equality of Opportunity and an Inclusive practice
- Promoting Positive Behaviour
- Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment
- Recording children’s development and learning
- Working with parents/carers and other professionals.
- The business aspects of running and managing a Childminding business
The course runs over four weeks, based on four core learning days. In the fifth week, learners are expected to share what they have learnt with other learners.
The course will be run by GEM Training and Advisory Service who are an established training provider focusing on providing quality Early years
